Chapter Twenty

SALEM

There is nothing that could compare to the taste and feel of Ryas. I’ve dreamed of this day for many years, and I can’t believe it came to fruition. I know this wasn’t what she was wanting when she came to me, but I’m glad it happened. I’m happy I was the one to take her first. I know my brother will be upset, but I don’t care. Nothing will make me regret her. Ever.

She and I are up, dressed, and eating before we should have been. But we didn’t go to sleep after our coming together this morning. Twice. Both times were amazing and unexpected.

Owen’s the first one up and walking toward us. But he stops. His sharp inhale of breath is barely audible. He arches a brow at me, and I nod imperceptibly. He winks at me and comes closer. He wraps Rya in a hug and kisses the top of her head before reaching for her food.

“You look better, bro,” he says, looking me up and down.

“I had some help.” My eyes gravitate to my ‘help,’ and Owen chuckles.

Rya turns around and asks, “What are you laughing at?”

Owen holds up his hands in surrender. “Nothing. I was just noting that he looks as good as new.”

Ryas narrows her eyes on Owen, looking for something that she won’t find. He’s not hiding anything from her. “Owen Maranaxis, if you’re trying to pull a fast one on me, I swear I’ll turn you into a toad.”

We both laugh, and she glares at us for it.

“I’m not joking! My power can be used in many ways.” She narrows her eyes on him.

Owen reaches out for her and kisses her hard and fast on the lips. She looks dazed for a moment before she comes to her senses right as Owen takes her food from her.

“Stupid Incubus,” she mutters as she pulls her plate back.

“You love it,” he says with a grin.

“Do I?” she asks, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

“What’s going on here? It’s far too early for you lot to be this loud.” We all turn to my brother and Cobra as they stalk to the little kitchen area, rubbing sleep from their eyes.

“Well, we’ve been up awhile. Figured we’d eat and be ready to go as soon as possible,” Rya says to them.

Both of the men take in her scent mixed with mine. Her blood is in my veins, and my mark is on her body. We have to push a small amount of venom into the wound to stop the healing, and licking it would have made it heal to conceal any evidence of my biting no matter if I injected my venom or not. I was worried it wouldn’t stick since she has accelerated healing, more so than any Supe alive, apart from her father and his family.

When I saw it still there after the blood clotted and started to dry, I was more than ecstatic. I’m the first to take her and mark her as mine.
